A swimmer was attacked by a 1.5-metre tiger shark at a beach in Perth, close to Fremantle Port. The incident occurred around 2.30pm (5.30pm AEDT) at the Sandtrax surfing site. The attack was reported by a member of the public approximately an hour later. In light of this incident, swimmers in the vicinity of Port Beach are advised to exercise heightened caution.
