A traffic incident occurred late last night at the intersection of Oberon Street and Arden Street in South Coogee, involving a red hatchback and a black sedan. The driver of the red hatchback reportedly fled the scene without providing their details to the sedan’s driver.

Authorities later located the abandoned hatchback on Canberra Street in Randwick. When approached by police, the driver allegedly did not stop, leading officers on a pursuit through Randwick, Surry Hills, and the Sydney CBD, before heading onto the M1 Motorway and Pacific Highway towards North Shore.

The police ultimately apprehended the 32-year-old suspect on the Pacific Highway in Turramurra. Following his arrest, the man underwent a roadside drug test which reportedly indicated a positive result. He was then transported to Hornsby Police Station, where a saliva sample was collected for deeper analysis.

As of now, no charges have been filed, and the individual remains in police custody for the time being.
