Sunia Turuva has expressed regret over a social media post aimed at Lachlan Galvin, a fellow player, but the two have since mended their differences. In April, Turuva and teammate Jarome Luai faced criticism after publicly questioning Galvin’s decision to turn down a lucrative deal with Wests Tigers. The backlash was significant, prompting Galvin’s management to issue a legal notice concerning allegations of bullying.

Recently, Galvin confirmed he has signed a three-year contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs, bringing closure to the tumultuous chapter surrounding his contract negotiations. Turuva remarked on the past incident, stating that he wouldn’t have made the post had he considered Galvin’s situation more carefully. He acknowledged the necessity to focus on the team and move forward.

In their conversation about the incident, Turuva noted, “Looking back, I’ve got to be a bigger person. We can now leave it in the past.” He is focused on his upcoming match against his former team, the Penrith Panthers, marking the first game against them since his and Luai’s departures. While Penrith comes off a recent victory, the Tigers are struggling with a three-match losing streak.

Turuva expressed excitement for the match, recalling discussions with Luai earlier in the season about facing the Panthers. He mentioned that teammate Brian To’o is already engaging in playful banter, reminding him of his past with the Panthers. Turuva playfully noted that scoring against his former team would be satisfying and hopes to celebrate with his current teammates if he manages to score.

Overall, Turuva is optimistic about the future, both for himself and the club, as he prepares to move forward in his career.
