This morning, Rockliff addressed the media outside parliament as discussions intensify regarding an upcoming vote. The vote, anticipated later today, will follow further debates beginning at 10am, with several MPs scheduled to share their perspectives.

Should the no-confidence motion proposed by the Labor party be approved, Rockliff plans to meet with Lieutenant Governor Chris Shanahan, who is currently acting in place of Governor Barbara Baker during her absence. In that meeting, he will request the dissolution of parliament.

There is a strong possibility that if Labor secures backing from crossbench members, the motion will gain enough support to pass.
