The Wests Tigers have illustrated a promising start to their new chapter, celebrating their second consecutive victory by overcoming the Dolphins with a scoreline of 30-18. Despite trailing 18-6 in the first half, the Tigers demonstrated resilience and determination in their comeback.

Commentator Dan Ginnane remarked, “Something is brewing here” during the exciting match aired on Fox League. However, the Tigers faced an injury scare as Jeral Skelton departed the field in the second half due to a knee injury sustained while making a tackle.

The Dolphins initially capitalised on their home advantage, with Jack Bostock scoring in the corner shortly after returning to the field. The Tigers quickly retaliated through winger Sunia Turuva. The Dolphins extended their lead through efforts from Herbie Farnworth and Kodi Nikorima, placing them in a strong position. As the first half concluded, the Tigers kept their hopes alive with a try from young hooker Tallyn Da Silva, narrowing the gap to 18-12.

After a slow start in the second half, Turuva struck again in the 63rd minute to level the score. The Tigers then surged ahead, with Alex Seyfarth scoring after receiving a solid pass from dummy half Koroisau. To cap off a stellar performance, Koroisau darted from 15 metres out, evading Tom Gilbert to secure the win.

Coach Kevin Walters praised Koroisau’s leadership, stating, “That’s captaincy at its best.” Despite the victory, a cloud loomed over Turuva’s performance as he was placed on report for a potentially dangerous tackle.

Looking ahead, the Dolphins are set to face the Broncos on Friday night at Suncorp Stadium, while the Tigers will continue their campaign against the Warriors on Sunday, rounding off round four of the NRL season.
