A tragic house fire in Heckenberg, Sydney, has claimed the lives of a six-year-old girl and a 46-year-old woman, with another child currently fighting for her life in hospital. The blaze broke out early in the morning around 12.40 am, prompting emergency services to rush to St Johns Road.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire, which caused significant damage to the home. Upon their arrival, they discovered the bodies of the young girl and the woman, who have yet to be formally identified. Fortunately, eight other individuals—including four children and four adults—were able to escape the inferno.
Among those injured, a girl and a man were reported in critical condition, while another child and a second man were also hospitalised. Authorities are conducting an investigation, and a report will be prepared for the coroner to determine the cause of the fire.
