Six teenagers have been apprehended following a police pursuit that ended in a serious crash in Sydney’s Inner West. The incident occurred around 12:35 a.m. when officers tried to stop a car on Erskineville Road, believed to be connected to an earlier chase. The driver failed to comply, leading to a subsequent police chase that ultimately concluded when the hatchback collided with a pole on Botany Road in Mascot.
After the collision, all six boys reportedly fled the scene but were later located nearby and taken into custody. The driver, a 14-year-old, experienced abdominal pain and received treatment on-site before being transported in stable condition to Sydney Children’s Hospital. Thankfully, the other passengers did not sustain any injuries but were also taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.
The group remains under police guard while receiving medical attention. Authorities have set up a crime scene and initiated an investigation into the events leading up to the crash.
