Six men are currently evading authorities following a violent attack on a cyclist near Campbelltown in Sydney’s south-west. Reports indicate that the men, travelling in two vehicles, pursued a pair of cyclists through the streets of Airds. Approximately at 10pm, one of the vehicles, identified as a ute, mounted the curb on Heathfield Avenue and sped onto Riverside Drive.

Witnesses claim that up to six assailants exited their vehicles, armed with baseball bats and other potential weapons, and approached one of the cyclists. Prior to the assault, a heated argument had reportedly occurred between the men and the victim, a 51-year-old cyclist, who was subsequently chased down.

The assault resulted in the victim being beaten and left in the driveway of a nearby residence. He later received medical attention for arm injuries at a hospital. Unfortunately, he is currently unable to converse with police regarding the details of the incident due to his condition. Meanwhile, the second cyclist managed to escape, prompting police to launch an extensive search for both the attackers and potential witnesses.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the attack or the individuals involved to come forward.
