In Sydney, a violent altercation involving a group of six individuals, including four teenagers, led to serious injuries and arrests. The incident unfolded outside a family’s home in Ruse, near Campbelltown, and was captured on CCTV. A 35-year-old man was reportedly struck in the head with a hammer, leaving him unconscious on the front lawn. He was subsequently hospitalised with a significant head injury but is currently in stable condition. Another person involved, a 15-year-old boy, also required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.
The chaos began when one group vandalised a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residential property. Following this, the two groups clashed, wielding makeshift weapons like metal poles. A child’s bike was even allegedly used as a projectile during the fracas. Amid the turmoil, a teenager sought refuge in a nearby house, but the owner denied him entry.
Courtney, the resident who witnessed the melee from her living room, expressed her shock and dismay at the violence that erupted so close to her home. Reflecting on the aftermath, she noted the damage inflicted on her property, stating, “They damaged the front of my house, my car, everything.”
Authorities suspect the confrontation may have stemmed from a dispute at a nearby shopping centre, although they remain uncertain if the two groups involved had prior connections. Following the incident, police arrested several individuals, including the four teenagers, as part of their investigation into the violent confrontation.
