A significant police operation is currently unfolding in Brighton-Le-Sands, a suburb located south of Sydney, following a shooting incident around 3.15pm today. Reports indicate that an unidentified assailant fired shots at three men who were near a parked vehicle along the Grand Parade, approximately 4km from Sydney Airport.
Witnesses described seeing an Audi SUV approach before shots were fired, after which the vehicle sped away from the scene. The three men involved reportedly left before police arrived. Upon investigation, officers discovered three cars with bullet damage and identified a nearby building that had also sustained gunfire-related damage. A crime scene was established, resulting in road closures between The Grand Parade and Trafalgar Street.
Shortly after the shooting, police located the Audi, matching the description of the getaway vehicle, engulfed in flames on Windarra Street in Narwee. A local witness recounted observing shots being fired from the moving vehicle, expressing shock over the incident. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported at this stage. New South Wales Police is actively investigating the situation and has not yet provided any further details.
