Aldi stores across various regions are recalling a popular item due to potential contamination risks. The food safety authority has issued a warning regarding Fresh Salad Co Baby Spinach, with specific varieties testing positive for microbial contamination, known as STEC. Consumption of products contaminated with STEC can lead to illness, according to the watchdog.

This recall affects customers in Queensland and selected locations in northern New South Wales, including Tweed Heads South, Ballina, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Casino, Toormina, Armidale, Byron Bay, Goonellabah, Tweed Mall, and Moonee Beach.

Affected consumers are strongly advised against eating the contaminated products. They can return any such items to the retailer for a complete refund. Furthermore, anyone with health concerns related to this issue should seek medical attention.
