A manhunt has commenced for an armed robber involved in a service station hold-up in Queensland. The incident occurred last Friday at around 9pm on Logan Road in Underwood, when a man entered the store wielding a metal rod and demanded cash from a staff member.
CCTV footage from the store captured the suspect approaching a female employee near the ice cream freezer. The man handed her a yellow bag and gestured towards the cash register, indicating his demands. Initially, the woman stood still, holding the bag, before the footage revealed the man pointing at the till while still holding the metal rod.
The robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, but thankfully, the employee was not physically harmed during the ordeal. Descriptions provided by police indicate that the suspect is Caucasian, of solid build, and stands approximately 175cm tall. On the night of the robbery, he was observed wearing grey shorts with a white stripe, a grey cap, and had a black and white shirt over his face.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have information or additional footage relating to the incident to come forward.
