Doherty first faced breast cancer in 2015, experiencing a brief remission before the disease returned at stage 4 in 2020. In June 2023, she revealed the cancer had spread to her brain. Throughout her journey, she candidly documented her experiences on her podcast, Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, with her final episode airing just days before her death.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Los Angeles, Doherty began acting at the tender age of 10. She gained fame for her portrayal of Brenda Walsh in Beverly Hills, 90210, a role that catapulted her to stardom. Following her time on the show, she starred in various films and series, including Charmed, before returning to the reboot of 90210 in 2008 and appearing in BH90210 in 2019.
