A severe weather alert has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) for regions in Victoria, including the Victorian ranges and northern Gippsland, as well as northeastern parts of the state. Forecasts indicate that winds could exceed 100 km/h, with the most significant gusts expected tomorrow morning, potentially causing damage to properties, trees, and the power network. Motorists travelling over elevated Alpine roads are advised to exercise caution.

In Tasmania, heavy rainfall is projected, with estimates ranging from 50 to 80mm over the coming days due to a cold front moving eastward. This significant precipitation raises concerns about flooding, particularly in the northern regions, where previous rainfall may have already saturated the ground.

While most areas of Victoria will experience less than 50mm of rain during this weather event, winds in Melbourne are likely to reach up to 40 km/h tomorrow, with a possibility of thunderstorms and rain accumulations of around 5mm. Temperatures are expected to peak at approximately 21 degrees Celsius before dropping to 16 degrees by Thursday.

The impending conditions may cause disruptions, and residents are advised to stay informed and prepared for adverse weather impacts.
