Seven teenage boys, aged 15 to 17, were arrested following a dramatic police pursuit in Melbourne that ended in a crash. The incident occurred early yesterday morning when an allegedly stolen Volvo collided with a tree on Wisdom Avenue in Truganina. Fortunately, none of the boys were injured.

The pursuit began with a stolen Skoda SUV driving recklessly on Greens Road around 11pm, leading police on a 90-minute chase covering 150km. After switching vehicles in Point Cook, the teenagers continued their reckless driving, eventually resulting in the Volvo crashing less than a kilometre from the family’s home where it had been stolen.

The owner of the Volkswagen, Emma Prespanoski, shared her shock after realising that thieves had entered her home while her family slept, taking the car keys after allegedly jumping a fence. In an unsettling twist, she suspects that her family dog may have been drugged during the incident.

Following the crash, one of the 16-year-olds was charged with multiple offences, including car theft and dangerous driving, while others received bail for their charges related to vehicle theft. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, six other youths were also spotted in an allegedly stolen Holden, leading to further police pursuits across the city.
