A senior member of the Comanchero Motorcycle Gang, aged 51, was shot and left critically injured outside the Rockingham Emergency Department in Perth late yesterday evening. Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Thompson reported that the individual sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body and legs and showed signs of burns, suggesting an attempt to remove his gang-related tattoos.

Thompson noted that the shooting occurred while the man was attempting to exit the gang, indicating a targeted assault linked to his gang affiliations. Authorities expressed concern over the dangerous nature of outlaw motorcycle gangs, highlighting their role in perpetuating violence and harm within the community.

“The fact that he was abandoned with severe injuries underscores the callousness typically associated with these groups and their disregard for human life,” Thompson remarked. He explained that the man had been left outside the hospital without any assistance, despite his life-threatening condition.

While the police affirmed the incident was an isolated and targeted attack, they reassured the public there was no ongoing threat to the community. The man was later transferred to the Royal Perth Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition. Authorities are urging anyone with potential information regarding the incident to reach out to Crime Stoppers.
