A significant search operation is currently underway for a man named Andy, whose last name remains unconfirmed. He was camping with a group of 14 individuals in Murray-Sunset National Park, located in the north-west of Victoria. Around 11am yesterday, Andy departed from the Shearers Quarters camping area on his own, intending to hike the 8km Millewa South Bore Track toward the South Australian border. Since then, he has not been seen.
Authorities have mobilised a wide-ranging search effort, involving police, the Air Wing, Dog Squad, Mounted Branch, and Search and Rescue Squad, alongside the State Emergency Service (SES). There is concern for Andy’s wellbeing due to his limited hiking experience and the fact that he has been missing for over 24 hours.
Andy is described as being of Asian descent, standing at approximately 173cm tall with a slim physique. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper, grey track pants, and black steel-cap boots, and he was carrying a black backpack.
The search teams are working diligently in hopes of locating him safe and sound.
