Police have released new CCTV footage of two individuals on an e-bike as they continue their search for those responsible for discharging a fire extinguisher into a vehicle, which resulted in injury to a five-month-old baby. The incident occurred at Sippy Downs, with the parents and their daughter, Pixie, in the car at the time.

Tiffani Teasdale reported that her partner, Leon, was driving when the pair, riding the e-bike, approached their silver Suzuki Vitara and sprayed the extinguisher. The discharge filled the car with smoke, leaving Leon panicking as he struggled to see or breathe. In desperation, he yelled that there was a baby in the car, but it seems the perpetrators were unfazed by his plea.

After quickly stopping at a bus stop, Leon rushed to get Pixie out of the vehicle. Alarmingly, upon opening the door, he discovered her covered in white powder and in a state of shock, with her eyes wide and her mouth agape. Teasdale described the distressing scene, noting Pixie was covered in red rashes and had bloodshot eyes after the incident.

Following the disturbing event, Pixie was taken to the hospital, where medical staff urgently worked to cleanse her eyes of the chemicals. Teasdale recounted hearing her daughter’s terrifying scream, which she described as the worst sound she has ever encountered. In her distress, Teasdale had to leave the room while a nurse held Pixie down for treatment.

Police have identified that the fire extinguisher was likely stolen from a nearby car park on Courage Street earlier in the evening. They are appealing for public assistance in identifying the e-bike riders, releasing video footage that shows them in the vicinity prior to the incident.

Teasdale expressed her anger towards the two individuals, urging them to take responsibility for their actions and to stop instilling fear in the community. She highlighted the arbitrary nature of their reckless behaviour, pointing out that any number of vulnerable individuals could have been in the car, including those with respiratory issues, newborns, or elderly passengers.

The community is rallying behind the family as investigators work to track down the suspects, hoping for justice in a situation that has left many feeling unsettled and concerned for public safety.
