The search operation for a 23-year-old man missing in the Brisbane River has resumed this morning. Reports indicate that he fell into the river while enjoying time with family and friends. It’s believed the individual was unable to swim, prompting some of his companions to jump into the water in an attempt to save him. Unfortunately, he has not been located since the incident.
Efforts today are concentrated on the river and the surrounding shoreline, particularly upstream from Seventeen Mile Rocks. A coordinated response involves Water Police, foot patrols, the Polair unit, and the State Emergency Service (SES).
Authorities are appealing to anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist the investigation.
