Emergency services were dispatched to Batemans Bay Marina around 8pm last night following reports of a missing fisherman. The man, aged 56, had set out in an 8-metre Arvor cruiser at approximately 6am and was last heard from around 10am.

Concerns grew when the man did not return home, prompting police to be notified at approximately 7.20pm. In response, the Marine Area Command, alongside the police, Marine Rescue NSW, and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), promptly initiated a search operation.

The extensive search featured boats, aircraft, and a helicopter; however, both the man and his vessel remained unlocated. Authorities plan to continue the search efforts today, with support from Surf Life Saving NSW.
