A popular beach near Denmark, located on Western Australia’s south west coast, has reopened after a snorkeller went missing for over 24 hours. The search operation was temporarily halted last night as police divers travelled from Perth to assist.
The incident occurred around 4pm yesterday when a man in his 60s encountered difficulties while snorkelling near the rocks at Greens Pool, located in William Bay. Unfortunately, bystanders were unable to reach him before he vanished from sight.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene but faced challenges due to adverse weather conditions and limited visibility, hindering their efforts. Sources indicate that the missing man had been in the area with family at the time of the incident.
As a precaution, William Bay National Park has been closed, and visitors are advised to steer clear of the vicinity.
