Authorities in Sydney’s western suburbs are actively searching for two hooded individuals involved in a recent firebombing incident at a residence in Penrith. The fire was reported at approximately 10pm on Hope Street.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene after the home was set ablaze. CCTV footage captured the suspects making their way around the brick property, where they were seen dousing the exterior with what is believed to be petrol before igniting the flames. One of the assailants was observed possibly burning himself during the act.

Following the ignition, the arsonists fled the location. Fortunately, Fire and Rescue personnel arrived in time to prevent extensive damage, with only the front door sustaining significant harm, and no injuries were reported.

Police are appealing to the public for information that could lead to the capture of the two suspects. Anyone with insights or details related to the incident is encouraged to reach out to Crime Stoppers.
