A Year 6 student from Central Coast Grammar School is in critical condition after being struck by a fallen branch during a school excursion to Government House in Canberra. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the branch fell, injuring multiple children. Emergency services were alerted around 2:43 PM and promptly attended to the site.
In a communication to parents, Principal Phil O’Regan confirmed that one girl remains critically ill and is receiving specialised medical care, while three other students involved were treated for minor injuries and later discharged. The principal expressed support for the affected families and assured ongoing contact and counselling for Year 6 students.
Central Coast Grammar, located 350 kilometres from Canberra in Erina, is an independent school catering to students from kindergarten to Year 12. The incident has prompted an outpouring of concern within the school community as they rally to support the injured student and her family during this challenging time.
