Sam Konstas has been officially added to Cricket Australia’s national contract list for the upcoming season, marking a significant step in his cricketing career. He joins fellow newcomers Beau Webster and Matt Kuhnemann in the 23-player squad.

Konstas made a striking impression last summer by scoring a half-century on his Test debut against India, showcasing his potential as a long-term asset for the Australian team. Similarly, Webster also shone in his initial outings with the national team, while Kuhnemann has been acknowledged for his outstanding performance during the recent series against Sri Lanka.

However, this selection process means that a few players have lost their contracts, including Aaron Hardie, Todd Murphy, and Sean Abbott. Others such as Nathan McSweeney and Cooper Connolly also missed out on selection.

The contracted players for Australia for the 2025/26 season now include a mix of experienced talents and emerging stars. The complete roster consists of Xavier Bartlett, Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Nathan Ellis, Cam Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Matt Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Lance Morris, Jhye Richardson, Matt Short, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Beau Webster, and Adam Zampa.

This contract list reflects Cricket Australia’s commitment to nurturing young talent while balancing the experience of seasoned players, as they prepare for future challenges on the international stage.
