A recent altercation outside a pub in Sorrento has led to explosive accusations against AFL players Dion Prestia from Richmond and Steven May from the Melbourne Football Club. Prestia confronted media while leaving a community camp in Albury, angrily dismissing questions related to the incident, which reportedly occurred on Boxing Day.

Witness Will Salter claimed he and his friends were approached by Prestia and May’s group, which resulted in a violent confrontation. Salter alleges that during the scuffle, he was kicked repeatedly while on the ground, leading to a severe eye socket injury that has left him unable to work as an apprentice electrician. He described May instigating the fight, stating that he witnessed him punch a friend before chaos erupted.

Injuries were not limited to Salter; another individual was hospitalised due to seizures and low blood pressure following the incident. While 9News reports the claims, they do not assert the truth of the accusations against Prestia and May.

Without security footage, the investigation by Victoria Police faces challenges, although an official report has been filed. The Melbourne Football Club has stated that they will cooperate with police as required.
