Recently unearthed photographs and footage from the 1990s have brought renewed attention to Jeffrey Epstein’s relationship with Donald Trump, particularly surrounding significant events such as Trump’s 1993 wedding to Marla Maples at the Plaza Hotel, where Epstein’s attendance was previously unknown. The revelation of Epstein being present at the ceremony, confirmed by photos captured by high-society photographer Dafydd Jones, has stirred interest as it predates Epstein’s legal troubles that started surfacing in 2005.
Moreover, archival footage from a 1999 Victoria’s Secret fashion event shows Trump and Epstein interacting amicably, highlighting their connection during that period. This footage was uncovered by CNN’s KFile while reviewing event recordings from the 1990s and 2000s.
Following these revelations, speculation has arisen about Trump’s past associations with Epstein, especially in light of the Justice Department’s recent decision to withhold questions regarding Epstein’s alleged co-conspirators, leading to disappointment among some of Trump’s supporters. In a conversation with CNN regarding the wedding photos, Trump dismissed the inquiry and labelled CNN as “fake news,” reinforcing his stance of disconnection from Epstein.
Steven Cheung, the White House Communications Director, defended Trump, asserting that the published images and videos were taken out of context and aimed at inferring malintent. Trump’s circle maintains that he distanced himself from Epstein after finding his behaviour objectionable.
Trump and Epstein had a social relationship dating back to the 1980s, frequently attending functions together and travelling on Epstein’s aircraft on multiple occasions. Despite strong backlash against Epstein due to serious allegations of sexual misconduct, Trump has never been implicated alongside him. Reports suggest that their friendship soured in the mid-2000s, ostensibly due to a dispute over real estate.
While Trump’s connections were brief, the latest findings indicate the extent of their interactions, including Epstein attending Trump’s wedding and both being seen together at various public events. Furthermore, material from LIFE magazine archives confirms Epstein’s role at the wedding, although Trump and Epstein ultimately parted ways, with Trump reportedly removing Epstein from his social circles.
In light of these developments, Trump continues to deny any wrongdoing related to Epstein and has taken legal action against claims asserting his involvement in questionable activities. Meanwhile, Epstein’s 2019 death, ruled a suicide, has spurred numerous conspiracy theories and calls for greater transparency in the justice process concerning his associates.
