Australia is bracing itself for another spell of rainfall this weekend, impacting both its east and west coasts. A cold front is currently moving through Western Australia, bringing showers to the coastal region, with heavier rainfall anticipated in Perth and parts of the south-west by tomorrow. Forecasts from Weatherzone suggest that Perth could receive between 20mm and 40mm of rain.

As the weekend unfolds, the wet weather is expected to start easing by Sunday afternoon. This timing coincides with an AFL match between the West Coast Eagles and Adelaide Crows at Optus Stadium, which will see local fans flocking to the game.

On the eastern side of the continent, central and southern Queensland, alongside northern New South Wales, are also experiencing rain and isolated thunderstorms today. The forecast indicates that the rain will intensify along the Capricornia and Wide Bay coasts in Queensland tomorrow. Additionally, light coastal showers are likely to persist across the New South Wales and Queensland coasts throughout Sunday.

Brisbane residents may also need to prepare for potential rain as it marks the opening day of the popular 149th Royal Queensland Show, commonly known as the Ekka. As the weekend progresses, Australians from different regions will be keeping an eye on the weather as these significant events unfold against a backdrop of rain.
