Developers are planning to construct a significant residential complex, dubbed a “megalot,” in the wealthy suburb of Mosman, located by Sydney Harbour. Recently, a total of 12 homes were acquired for approximately $85 million on Brierley Street to pave the way for this ambitious project.
The proposed structure is set to be an eight-storey building, offering up to 100 apartments. In an effort to address housing affordability issues, the developers have committed to designating 15 per cent of the units as affordable housing, should the project receive the necessary approvals.
However, the local community has expressed significant resistance to the development. Residents are concerned that such large-scale construction could compromise the quality of life in Mosman, which they feel should be maintained.
