NSW Police have successfully disrupted a potentially lethal criminal operation by intercepting what they suspect to be a “kill car” during a dramatic high-speed pursuit in western Sydney. The chase involved a stolen Audi believed to be linked to several recent shootings and a firebombing incident.

The pursuit began on the Great Western Highway in Wentworthville, where officers observed the occupants of the Audi discarding jerry cans from the vehicle as they sped along the M4 motorway. A significant police response ensued, including multiple patrol units and even aerial support, eventually tracking the car down near Hill Road in Homebush.

Upon halting the Audi, the three male occupants attempted to flee on foot but were swiftly apprehended by police. A subsequent search revealed a handgun and a semi-automatic firearm inside the vehicle, which are thought to be connected to recent violent events, including a firebombing in Panania the previous month. Additionally, the Audi is reportedly involved in multiple shootings at homes throughout Western Sydney earlier this week.

Detective Inspector Brad Abdy stated that police had been actively trying to determine the routes taken by the vehicle linked to the shootings. The three apprehended men, aged 28 from Maroubra, 24 from Shalvey, and 25 from Wilmot, have yet to be charged. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities appealing to anyone with dashcam footage of the chase to assist in their inquiries.

This incident underscores the continued efforts of law enforcement to combat escalating violence and crime within the region, demonstrating their commitment to public safety.
