Family and friends have gathered to honour Julian Story, a talented musician from Port Lincoln, following the tragic circumstances of his death. A private funeral was conducted for him today, nearly seven weeks after his body was found.

Father Paul Bourke, who led the service, reflected on Julian’s character, describing him as a “normal lad” with a lively spirit and a knack for music. He noted the joy Julian brought to those around him, particularly during his upbringing on the family farm in Wanilla.

Julian’s family has faced immense trauma but remains resilient, supported by their community and their personal beliefs. Father Bourke highlighted this strength amidst the sorrow.

The details surrounding Julian’s death are harrowing. It has been reported that he was killed and beheaded by his girlfriend, Tamika Chesser, a former contestant on the reality show “Beauty and the Geek.” His remains were found at his residence in Port Lincoln, with the discovery of his head occurring just last week, which postponed his funeral.

South Australian Police Commissioner Grant Stevens expressed his sympathy regarding the tragic nature of the incident, acknowledging the small comfort that the recovery of part of Julian’s remains provides to his family during this difficult time.

Chesser is currently receiving mental health treatment in Adelaide, and authorities have not yet managed to speak with her about the circumstances of the alleged crime. Commissioner Stevens indicated that due to her mental health state, it is not appropriate to conduct an interview at this moment.

The investigation into Julian Story’s death is ongoing, as the community continues to grapple with the tragic loss of a young life that was promising and filled with potential. The support from loved ones and the local community is instrumental in helping the family find strength during this extremely challenging period.
