Police in Melbourne are seeking public assistance following a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian unconscious in St Albans early this morning. At around 4:11 am, a white sedan struck a 41-year-old man on Main Road East, between Branston Road and Wahgunyah Drive. He was discovered by a passing driver and has since been hospitalised in critical but stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and continued eastbound. Authorities are urging any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward to aid in identifying the driver. The vehicle is believed to have noticeable damage to its front right bumper, bonnet, and windscreen.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are optimistic that community information might help resolve the case. If you have information regarding the incident or footage that could assist, you are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
