A tragic incident has occurred in a park in North Adelaide, where a man aged 54 was discovered unresponsive on a pathway around 7:30 am during his morning exercise routine. He was noticed by passersby, but the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
The victim, a resident of Marden, was on his usual walk from Walkerville when he collapsed. A heavy police presence was soon established in the area, with volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES) assisting in the search, including checking garbage bins for any potential evidence.
Detective Inspector Fraser Huntley confirmed that blood was found at the scene and noted that it belonged to the deceased, although the context of its discovery is still unknown. The SES conducted a thorough line search of the park’s gardens to look for any additional clues.
Police are currently seeking assistance from the public to help piece together the events leading up to the man’s collapse. They are particularly interested in any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage who may have seen him before his death. It is believed he travelled down O’Connell Street as part of his routine, and officers are appealing to individuals who were in the area at that time to come forward with information.
As investigations continue, authorities remain focused on uncovering the details surrounding this unfortunate event to provide clarity to the victim’s family and the community.
