A witness narrowly escaped involvement in a shooting and car fire in Sydney’s south-west early this morning. Mary Boyer heard gunshots and an explosion shortly before 1:10 AM on Haig Avenue in Georges Hall. Upon investigation, police discovered that several rounds had been fired into the office of an insurance broker. Boyer recounted her shock, fearing she could have been shot if she had encountered the assailants. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Just minutes after the shooting, authorities were alerted to a car fire on Kawana Street, Bass Hill, where fire crews extinguished the blaze, though the vehicle was completely damaged. The car has been taken for forensic examination.

Police are searching for three suspects in connection with the incident, believed to be targeted. CCTV footage reportedly captures the masked men exiting a vehicle before opening fire. Detective Chief Inspector Darren Sly stated that investigators are in discussions with the brokerage owners to uncover the motive behind the attack. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.
