A blue Subaru Liberty was involved in a collision with a pedestrian at the intersection of King Street and Batman Street in West Melbourne around 10pm on 30 May. The pedestrian, a 30-year-old individual from China, sustained serious injuries and was promptly taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities suspect that the driver of the Subaru braked briefly before fleeing the scene without providing assistance to the injured person. In light of the incident, police have released CCTV footage showing the vehicle believed to be connected to the accident.
Investigators are calling for anyone who may have information about the incident to reach out to Crime Stoppers.
