Police are probing a fatal incident involving an alleged home invasion in western Sydney that occurred in the early hours of the morning. Emergency services received a call about 1.30am regarding a disturbance at an apartment located on Union Road, Penrith.
Upon arrival, officers learned that two individuals had reportedly entered the unit and assaulted a man. A male in his 60s was treated by paramedics but sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene. While he has not yet been formally identified, he is believed to be in his sixties.
The police have cordoned off the area, establishing a crime scene with the help of the state’s homicide squad as they investigate the events surrounding this tragic incident. Authorities are encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward and assist with the ongoing inquiry.
