Residents of Tallebudgera Valley on the Gold Coast are being urged to stay alert following a shooting incident that led police to declare an emergency. Around midday, emergency services responded to reports of a man being shot on Tallebudgera Creek Road. The victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his shoulder and head, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Authorities established an exclusion zone, with residents advised to remain indoors and others to avoid the area. Chief Inspector Les Bulluss confirmed that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two men at a nearby property, where a homemade shotgun was used. Despite a significant police presence, including heavily armed units and a helicopter, the suspected shooter eluded capture as the emergency declaration was lifted just after 10pm.

While police are patrolling the area to ensure community safety, they insist there is currently no ongoing threat to the public. They are encouraging locals to report any suspicious activity. Meanwhile, the incident has raised concerns over the use of improvised firearms in domestic disputes, highlighting risks within secluded settings.
