Authorities are currently searching for at least one gunman following the tragic shooting of a 65-year-old woman in south-west Sydney. The incident occurred around 11pm last night at her residence on Dickens Road, Ambarvale, where emergency services responded to reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg after the occupants of an unidentified vehicle fired multiple rounds at her home before fleeing the scene. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate her for approximately an hour; however, she was pronounced dead at the location.
During the incident, two other individuals—a 34-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman—were present in the house but fortunately remained unharmed. The police quickly cordoned off the area and initiated an extensive investigation, including interviewing the victim’s relatives who arrived shortly thereafter.
Authorities have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the general public as they continue their inquiries into this distressing event.
