A man has been charged following an incident on a bus in Middle Park, where he allegedly verbally assaulted another passenger before stabbing him around 9pm last night. The victim, aged 27, sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
After the attack, the assailant, a 32-year-old from Prahran, fled the scene on foot. Authorities later discovered him in a nearby lake, where he refused to emerge. Water police were called to the location to persuade the man to leave the water.
He ultimately complied and was arrested, subsequently receiving medical attention from paramedics. The accused has been charged with intentionally causing injury and is expected to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
