A significant brawl broke out in a park on Pirrama Road in Pyrmont, Sydney, last night, prompting police to deploy capsicum spray to restore order. The altercation, which occurred around 10.30pm, involved as many as 40 individuals.
At the scene, authorities arrested three men: two aged 24 and one aged 21. Allegations suggest that capsicum spray was necessary for the arrest of one of the 24-year-olds. Paramedics attended to two individuals, one of whom was treated at the location before both were taken to the hospital for further care.
The two 24-year-old men have since been charged with affray while the younger man, aged 21, was released without any charges. Both charged individuals have been granted bail and are expected to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on May 14.
Witnesses reported that the group engaged in the brawl had only recently disembarked from a boat earlier that evening. In response to the disturbances, a crime scene has been established, and investigators are appealing for anyone with information to reach out to the authorities or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
