Two suspects behind antisemitic attacks in eastern Sydney have utilised “clone plates” to evade detection, according to police. The investigation is particularly focused on incidents such as graffiti that appeared on a Maroubra school on January 30. Authorities have released CCTV images of a Kia Stonic travelling through the M5 tunnel, with Detective Superintendent Darren Newman noting that the suspects impersonated the number plate of an unsuspecting local driver to carry out their activities.

The police are exploring potential connections between these attacks and organised crime. They urge anyone who recognises the individuals in the footage to come forward, especially a passenger depicted wearing a dark blue hooded jumper. The vehicle was last spotted heading to Sydney Airport after travelling through multiple suburbs, including Eastlakes and Mascot, where antisemitic graffiti was reported.

Authorities have made 13 arrests under Strike Force Pearl, which has been actively addressing these crimes with extensive patrols and investigations. The actions have drawn condemnation from Sydney’s Jewish community and lawmakers alike. Police ask anyone with relevant information or footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
