Body-worn camera footage captured a police officer arresting a suspected car thief on a Brisbane street. The incident unfolded when a 44-year-old man parked his Mazda 3 on Logan Road in Stones Corner around 4:20 pm yesterday and returned to find the vehicle missing, prompting him to call the police.

Later that afternoon, officers located the Mazda with a 29-year-old woman inside. Upon approaching her, the officer inquired, “What are you doing? Do you have a licence?” and “Is this your car?” After confirming her identity and the ownership status of the vehicle, the officer requested that she exit the car and proceeded to arrest her.

The woman has been charged with both the unlawful use of a car and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property. She is scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
