A plus-sized model from the UK, Angelica Fenney, has chosen to honour her recent victory over cancer by participating in a series of nude photoshoots. After over two decades of combatting the illness, she received the news of her remission earlier this month. Expressing her sense of liberation, she shared her exciting experience of embarking on her first official shoot in 20 years on her Facebook.

Fenney showcased nature-themed images from the shoot on her Instagram, which garnered significant positive attention. In a bold move to counteract body shaming, she addressed critics directly, stating that her journey to embracing her body, complete with its scars, has taken more than 21 years. She reflected on past struggles with weight loss, including extreme diets for television.

The empowering photoshoot symbolised a turning point for Fenney, who wants to inspire other women to accept their bodies, regardless of shape or size. She emphasised the importance of embracing one’s curves and rejecting societal beauty standards. “No more will my smile be fake,” she declared, reaffirming her newfound confidence and urging women everywhere to celebrate their unique beauty. The experience, she noted, has significantly strengthened her emotional resilience.
