Perth is bracing for a wet week as a cold front is expected to sweep across the south-west of Australia starting tomorrow. According to Weatherzone, this front will unleash severe thunderstorms, showers, and heavy rainfall, primarily affecting the region. Forecasts indicate that southern parts of the state could witness up to 80mm of rain, with Perth anticipated to receive around 40mm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Bureau of Meteorology has highlighted a high likelihood of rain for Perth on these days, coupled with forecasted temperatures dropping below 20 degrees Celsius, and lows dipping to 8 degrees on Thursday. This significant rainfall could lead to Perth experiencing its third consecutive month of above-average precipitation, following a total of 110.8mm recorded in August, which is notably close to the long-term average of 122.7mm.
As the week progresses, Weatherzone predicts that the arrival of a cold airmass associated with a high-pressure system will help alleviate the showers by Thursday, leading to cooler mornings late next week. Residents are advised to prepare for a rainy period ahead, with the potential for chilly spells as the weather settles.
