A man has been arrested following a dramatic car chase through the outer suburbs of Perth. The incident, which took place around 9:20 am on a Thursday, was captured by the Police Air Wing and showed the suspect recklessly speeding through Warnbro, Waikiki, and Rockingham. He was seen driving on the wrong side of the road and ignoring multiple traffic lights, forcing other vehicles to swerve to avoid collisions.
During the pursuit, the driver even entered a car wash before abandoning his vehicle in an empty lot. Upon rejoining the highway, he swerved onto the shoulder, collided with a tree, and ultimately rolled the car. The footage shows him exiting the wreck and fleeing on foot, but he was apprehended by police shortly after.
The man faces multiple charges, including stealing the vehicle, driving recklessly, and operating without a valid licence. Additionally, he is accused of using fraudulent registration plates and causing property damage. Following his court appearance, he was denied bail and is scheduled for another hearing at Rockingham Magistrates Court on April 11.
