Tayla Spies, a young mother of three, has been missing for two months after she was last seen in Surat, Queensland. Following a weekend spent in Dalby with her partner, she was captured on CCTV at 8:08 AM on February 2, carrying a large red bag. After checking out of their accommodation, she filled her white 2017 Toyota Hilux with diesel in Condamine at 9:20 AM—this was the last known sighting of her on camera.
Police believe Tayla drove towards Surat, where she allegedly met friends and her partner. At 11:10 AM, her vehicle was spotted passing through Surat, but instead of returning home to Roma, she turned south towards the Carnarvon Highway and the New South Wales border. Since her disappearance, there has been no contact with family or friends, and her phone and bank accounts remain untouched.
Concerns for her wellbeing have intensified, especially for her sister, Rebecca, who described the situation as heart-wrenching. Friends and family are desperate for answers, and a reward of $5,000 has been offered for information leading to her whereabouts, separate from the police investigation. Community members and investigators are urging anyone who travelled the area on February 2 to review dashcam footage and property owners to check their land.
Despite an extensive search, investigators face challenges due to the vast and remote terrain. They believe if Tayla had encountered trouble, authorities would have been alerted by now. Tayla has a deep familiarity with the area, often travelling between Roma and Dalby.
The search for Tayla Spies continues, with her family and friends publicly appealing for any information that could lead to her safe return. With no updates in two months, the search remains an urgent priority for those who love her, seeking to bring Tayla home.
