A European Rugby Champions Cup match in Toulouse, France, faced an unexpected delay at the start when a parachutist carrying the game ball became entangled on the stadium roof. The incident occurred as the parachutist was descending rapidly; his blue-and-white parachute snagged, leaving him hanging approximately 15 metres above the spectators.
Numerous videos shared on social media platform X depicted the dramatic scene, as firefighters arrived with a ladder from their truck to assist the stranded jumper. Reports indicate that the parachutist was a French soldier. Thankfully, he emerged unscathed, working with the firemen to detach the parachute from the roof while the crowd cheered, relieved by his safety.
Once the parachute was freed and the jumper safely retrieved, the firefighters received a hearty applause from the audience, with the firefighters encouraging further cheers. After a 40-minute delay, the rugby match resumed, with Toulouse ultimately defeating the English team Sale 38-15.
