In Western Australia, over 360 individuals have been reported missing, with several cases spanning more than 70 years. One such case is that of Rigby Mark Fielding, whose disappearance occurred in 2015. At the age of 53, Rigby was last seen in East Perth after telling his family he was returning home to Rockingham. He never arrived, and some of his possessions were later discovered in bushland near Kiwana, raising concerns for his safety.
Rigby’s sister, Stephenie Fielding, firmly believes that his disappearance is not a case of him simply vanishing and suspects that something catastrophic happened to him. She has expressed a deep desire for answers, as her family continues to seek resolution. In light of this, a reward of $500,000 has been announced for any information that could help elucidate the circumstances surrounding Rigby’s case.
To address the ongoing plight of missing persons, Crime Stoppers WA has initiated a renewed four-week campaign across television and social media. This initiative encourages the community—family, friends, and colleagues—to reflect on potential sightings or information that could aid in solving these cold cases. Acting Detective Superintendent David Gorton from the WA Police Major Crimes Division remarked that the campaign aims to generate new leads and provide closure to families still waiting for answers.
The hope is that increased awareness and community involvement will play a crucial role in shedding light on these unresolved cases, ultimately helping to locate missing persons like Rigby Fielding. Anyone with relevant information is strongly urged to reach out to Crime Stoppers to assist in these investigations.
