In the closing days of World War II, with Russian forces encroaching on Berlin, Adolf Hitler and his companion Eva Braun tragically ended their lives on April 29, 1945, within the confines of his bunker. Following Hitler’s death, Admiral Karl Doenitz assumed leadership but quickly opted to capitulate to the Allied forces. This led to the formal conclusion of the war in Europe on May 8, 1945.
