Mitchell Moses has been ruled out of State of Origin II due to a calf injury, throwing the Blues camp into disarray. Reports from 9News’ Danny Weidler indicate that the Eels halfback sustained the injury during Thursday’s training session. Moses was expected to play in the No.6 jersey alongside Nathan Cleary as the Blues aimed to secure a second consecutive series victory in Perth next Wednesday.

In light of this unexpected setback, coach Laurie Daley has a few potential replacement options. Matt Burton is currently in the Blue Mountains as the 18th man, but the most likely candidate to fill Moses’ spot appears to be Jarome Luai.

Further updates are anticipated as the team adjusts to this last-minute change.
