Apple’s supply chain, among the most extensive in the world, frequently sees prototypes of new products leak from factories. Recently, 9News has acquired a mock-up representing what is likely to be the upcoming iPhone SE 4th Generation. This model, not the anticipated iPhone 17, aligns with Apple’s strategy of releasing affordable options; the SE series is known for being the most budget-friendly among iPhones.
The SE launched in 2016, receiving updates in 2020 and 2022, and there are strong rumours of its imminent launch. The display size of the new model appears almost identical to the current iPhone 16, sporting a toggle switch for audio but lacking any new camera controls. Notably, this iteration eliminates the long-standing Home button, marking a significant design shift for users accustomed to it.
The mock-up reveals a single camera on the rear, suggesting a focus on software capabilities to enhance photo quality despite the absence of additional camera options. Expected to be powered by the A17 Pro chip, the iPhone SE 4th Generation could reflect Apple’s push for longevity with performance. While the last SE model started at $719, the new version might see a price increase to around $849, with an official announcement likely in late February or early March.
